Hitron integrated the OptiMy AI system within the gateway and offered MSOs a turn key solution – Hitorn coupled their Gateways with smart applications for technicians, end users, call centre support, marketing, and network. Hitron was able to achieve early market entry into this space through its partnership with ASSIA (OptiMy is an outsourced solution from ASSIA). This partnership delivered a cloud-based solution that monitors, manages and optimizes home Wi-Fi networks. However, based on Hitron’s 16+ years of experience in providing Docsis based CPEs to MSOs, we recognized that an AI cloud solution focused only on Wi-Fi is not enough to ensure true broadband Quality of Experience and end to end visibility. This can only be achieved in the MSO world through a central AI system that has real time visibility to the health of the IP network, HFC plant, in home wiring, Wi-Fi, and health of the CPE hardware/firmware. In addition, it is not enough for this AI system to only provide visibility to the health of these network components, but it must also gather, format, filter, link, and analyze this data from the various sources to help MSOs streamline operations and reduce/measure opex cost reductions through the efficiencies created.
