SCTE-Expo, October 22
TAIWAN – Hitron (TWSE: 2419) will be showcasing its lineup of video gateways, which enable flexible IPTV distribution over HFC networks to IP enabled STBs in Booth #11007, at SCTE Expo, Denver, Oct 28 – 30. Hitron’s video gateways use innovative techniques such as EdgeQAM and Hitron’s state-of-the-art DOCSIS technology to provide operators with the best possible use of bandwidth allocation in the delivery of their data and video services.
By using Hitron products, operator benefit from:
– Simplified setup – as the video is kept fully within the IP domain.
– Efficient use of bandwidth – as only requested streams are put on the network.
– Integration with switched video services, as the EdgeQAM can be limited to only part of the network.
Already deployed in the influential Asian market, Hitron ranges of Cable Modems supporting their video gateway range include:
– CMA-38300 DOCSIS 3.0 8×4 IPTV gateway with two wideband tuners support both high speed data and video.

Those newly introduced 8×4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable modem Gateway do have the channel agility options. That makes operator has the flexibility of utilize the full spectrum and will not limited in certain captured bandwidth by tuner. That setup enables the operator to provide high speed internet, as well as cost effective video distribution to simple STBs. All the STB needs to understand is traditional IPTV or MPEG TS and the cable modem will take care of finding the correct stream on the network, based on information it receives from the channel line up server. This application represents a new change in the way IPTV and video services can be deployed.
